From 28 November to 2 December Minin University delegation paid an official visit to the Pedagogical University of Anhui (China, the city of Wuhu), at the invitation of the Chinese side to discuss a three-year program of cooperation and to expand partnership.
During the visit, meetings were held with the leadership of the University: with the University secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Gu Jiashan, rector Wan Lu, vice-rector Zhu Tszyatsun, directors of physical culture, tourism, foreign languages, and pedagogy institutes, with the heads of the personnel department, the training department, the department of research, external relations and others.
In 2014 Cultural and educational center of Anhui State Pedagogical University was opened at Minin University in the presence of the governor of Anhui province and an agreement on long-term cooperation was signed. In the framework of this agreement the universities have launched a joint double bachelor program in the field of teacher education (teaching of Russian, Chinese and English as foreign languages and exploring Russian and Chinese cultures). 30 Russian and Chinese students are taking part in this program at present. According to this program students spend 2 years at home and 2 years abroad at partner University. The parties agreed that during the next three years, the program will expand and the number of students involved in it will be more than 200 people.
Moreover, as a part of the cooperation program the universities hold regular summer and winter cultural-educational schools for students, exchange teachers of the Russian and Chinese languages, arrange training of postgraduate students on organometallic chemistry.
The heads of the universities stressed that another important achievement of this cooperation has become the organization of a two-week in-service course for the teaching staff of ASPU at Minin University in 2015 and 2016.
The rector of Minin University Alexander Fedorov and the University secretary of the Chinese Communist party, Mr. GU Jiashan, having pointed at the wish of the leaders of Russia and China to strengthen relations between the two countries, have decided to arrange a five-year programme of cooperation and to expand areas of cooperation.
Among other things, the updated program of cooperation includes:
• a double degree program within the framework of the master's program on physical education and sports
• collaborative research and publication activity in 6 areas of scientific subjects
• on-line open lectures on acute topics for students, undergraduates, graduate students and academic staff of the two universities
• the expansion of the program of exchange of teachers and researchers up to 10 people a year
• the lecture course on culture, education system of China and the province of Anhui
• the joint project of «Russian-Chinese dictionary of Higher Education»
• the project of the creation of e-service "Pedagogical map of the world"
• the joint project of creating a tourist guides to Anhui Province and Nizhny Novgorod region
The leaders of the Universities decided to establish a joint working group for the preparation and implementation of the five-year program of cooperation. Signing of the new program and the ceremonial opening of the department of the Chinese language in the field of «education and pedagogical science» at Minin University will take place on 28 March 2017 within the Third public report on the implementation of Minin University development strategy.
Also during the visit, the delegation of Minin University met with the students of 2nd year, who are currently being trained at the University on the program of double bachelor degree. The secretary of the party Mr. GU noted the dedication and great diligence of Russian students.
