In August 2018, Minin University graduate students had a unique opportunity to take a two-week training course at a foreign partner university at the Education University of Hong Kong. It is one of the strongest universities in the world; it ranks 2nd in Asia and 9th in the world among pedagogical universities (QS World University Ranking by subject 2018). The topics of the Summer School were "Academic Writing" and "Research Methodology".
The graduate students of the Minin University share their impressions of the trip Sineva Elizaveta, Abadzhidi Daria, Sherikhova Ekaterina, Belonogov Sergey and Volkova Julia:
"Our group received a lot of emotions and impressions both from the training, and from the architecture and culture of the city. The trip to Hong Kong was an unforgettable experience: we were able to get acquainted with an absolutely different education system; we saw a student campus, located among the mountains and tropical forests, but that also has a well developed infrastructure. We visited the library with plenty of books and the most modern technologies - a place where students can not only work, but also relax. We were really amazed by the presence of a kindergarten and a school on the territory of the university, where students can practice and train their skills. During the summer school, we were able to exchange experiences, both in the field of culture and in the field of education. We had several visiting lectures, where our teacher showed us the most important objects reflecting the culture and mentality of Hong Kong citizens. Particularly relevant for us was the study and revision of topics related to scientific research writing. After classes we had a chance to explore the city on our own. We were mostly impressed by the skyscrapers on the beach; the temples, from the territories of which opens a stunning view of the city and fabulous parks."
