Advisor to the rector Kim Olga held a course of lectures in the Education University of Hong Kong

As a visiting Professor Olga Kim held a course of lectures on the issue of writing an academic essay for master’s program students and postgraduate training program, she also was a speaker in the open lecture, speaking about the Russian Education on the basis of Minin University. During the two weeks of the visit the advisor to the rector Kim Olga negotiated the joint master’s “International Education”, performed by the Universities.

Advisor to the rector Kim Olga was invited as a visiting professor to the Education University of Hong Kong to hold the course of lectures on the issue of writing an academic essay for master’s program students and postgraduate training program of the specialty “Education”. The lectures tackled the problem of distinctive features, stylistic peculiarities of the academic essay writing. Olga Kim also consulted individually some students doing research and writing the doctorate’s or master’s thesis on the topic of “Education”.

The Education University of Hong Kong also asked to prepare a public lecture for those students who are interested in the structure of contemporary education in Russia: its history structure and priority focus areas. Olga Kim claimed that the participants of the lecture showed genuine interest in the system of education in Russia:

The meeting participants were interested in how we see the modern educational landscape. As a result, I presented what goals and objectives we set, first of all, as a pedagogical university. Our main task is to train teachers capable of implementing all the tasks and goals that we see in the future of our education. In my lecture, I relied on the participation of the Minin University in national projects. The lecture participants were interested in the generational convention, in which we say that adults and children should grow up together in the educational process. A modern teacher should become such a platform - he should become the teacher of the future.


Within two working weeks, Olga Kim also had working meetings with the representatives of universities in Hong Kong who wanted to discuss cooperation. The meeting with the Director of the Institute of Conductive Education, Dr. Su Yen Wang, who was interested in the Minin University’s scientific school “Methodology of Pedagogy: A. Makarenko’s Heritage and Modern Environment” and the possibility of receiving advice from professors of our university, was very productive. Conductive Education involves work with people, having motor and cognitive disturbances due to diseases of the nervous and mental systems. As it turned out, this issue is very relevant for Hong Kong, about 20,000 families need help and advice on this issue.

During the two-week visit, Olga Kim, advisor to the rector , also held talks with University President, Professor Stefan Chung Jan-Lung, Vice President for Research and Development, Professor Louis Wang about the new Master's Program in International Education, implemented jointly with Minin University Minin and Education University of Hong Kong. The program has been launched since September 2019, the admission is open.
Olga Kim notes that they are planning to implement the program together and finally acquire the status of a program with a double diploma:

The goal of the program is to gain competencies in international education. The training on this program will be held in English. The program will be the first program of this kind in Minin University. We will talk about global trends in modern education, the quality standards that are inherent in the international education market.

The best teachers in the field of education will be invited to teach on the program.

Upon graduation, the students will have competencies in the field of educational management: they can become specialists of centers, departments of international cooperation and education, to manage educational organizations, enterprises, ministries and departments at various levels. It should be noted that the teachers of the Education University of Hong Kong will come to Minin University, conduct lectures, seminars and practical exercises in a single module. An internship will also be organized at the Education University of Hong Kong. The program is relevant due to the fact that the decrees of the President of Russia V.V. Putin mentions the export of Russian education, so we need to know how the modern educational landscape of the world level is organized.

Within the framework of Olga Kim's visit to the Education University of Hong Kong, it was agreed that this summer, in the first week of July, the undergraduates of Minin University will take part in the summer school. During this period, a major conference will be organized by the Education University of Hong Kong. Undergraduates will make their reports along with other participants from different countries.

Also this April the lecturers from the Education University of Hong Kong will arrive, headed by the Deputy Vice President, Professor Luo Xing Kai, and will give lectures to Minin University students in which they will share the experience of conducting research at the University of Education in Hong Kong. Olga Kim also noted that the main objectives of cooperation between Minin University and the Education University of Hong Kong are the perfect start of the joint master's program and joint research work in the areas of "Education" and "Linguistics".
